Baking powder biscuits Recipe

Baking powder biscuits

Flour 2 cups
Baking powder 1 Tbsp.
Salt 1 tsp.
Milk 2/3 cup

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. In a big mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Working easily with your fingertips, incorporate the butter into the flour to form a coarse mealy texture.
  2. Add just enough milk to combine all of the ingredients into a shaggy mass. It’s possible that you’ll need to use more or less milk than the recipe specifies.
  3. Remove the dough to a floured work surface and knead for a few seconds to smooth it out. If you over knead your biscuits, they will become tough.
  4. Roll out to about a 3/4-inch thickness. Using a floured glass or a biscuit cutter, break the dough into circles.
  5. Brush the rounds with milk or melted butter and place on an ungreased baking sheet.
  6. Place in the oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the top is browned. Serve right away.
